What does the future hold?

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a few thoughts about the future of plastic racing, but there is also the other aspect about the format of the various races on offer. The next few years are going to be very interesting to see how things develop and the offering for racers improves.

What I am talking about is how the races are run. Whether on plastic or indoor snow, at the moment we have regional races, SSE club nationals, SSE grand prix, the Indoor Series various championships but the format for many of the races has remained very much the same for some time now. So what attracts more people to certain races and less to others? Is it the prizes, the sponsorship, the format, some races being more relaxed than others, avoidance of politics, peer pressure, need to improve BARTS points, price. It could be a whole multitude of things.

There is a lot of talk at the regional level as to how things can be improved and changed to give people better value for money, some radical thoughts others not so radical.

Be interested to know what people think about what could be done to improve the racing experience for people, what are the good parts we want to take and what to avoid?
