SkiZog

A couple of years ago I created a simple website called SkiZog, www.skizog.co.uk, with the sole purchase of providing a way for people to advertise Ski race gear for sale when they were trying to get rid of it.

There were a couple of sites around already but not very extensive and had their limitations. I wanted something that people could upload items themselves and then I just needed to approve them. So I came up with SkiZog and it proved very popular.

A couple of months ago I updated the site, improved the software to a newer version and changed the look of it. It was something that I had planned on doing for many months but never had chance to get around to it but over the summer decided it had to be done. Once I got into it was fine and didn’t take very long.

One of the other drivers for updating the site is that back in July I decided I wanted to add more functionality to the existing marketplace and then move onto adding other things, such as the ability to add surveys, more information about the racing circuit etc. Although those latter features will take time to add.

Since re-launching the site in October it is proved to be even more busy and popular and there has been a lot of equipment posted in the last month and a lot sold since. With over 450 registered users there is now a user base with is steadily increasing in size making it easier to sell to people.

If you have any thoughts on improvements drop me a note.
