Links this week
Just a few interesting links from the past week and ones to watch more in the future.
This week it has been the Consumer Electronics Show, CES, in Las Vegas. It’s certainly a show I would love to attend one day and there is plenty of coverage on the Internet but here is a quick summary from the BBC. Interesting about what he says about small firms have always believed small is better and also the marketing Apple managed for free.
At CES this week Microsoft did a demo of Surface 2.0, here is the demo, but for full details of the product visit the Microsoft Surface site. Can see this being used more and more over the next couple of years now the product has matured.
Something different. Are small teams better than large development teams? I certainly think so and even in large companies you now see more and more them breaking down the teams into smaller ones, Have a read of this and see what you think/
I really like this company, Blippar, although I haven’t got a mobile that can use it I see this becoming very popular in the near future. I love the idea of this technology see the concept in so many places now and will only continue to mature.
A site I came across the other day which has some very interesting developments is Always Innovating, and the HDMI dongle is something that is going to prove extremely useful, just wish I could get one now!
One final one for this week is If This Then That. Once you get your head around the concept it is a very powerful toolset. Create various actions when certain things happen on the Internet in various channels. For example ‘When a new album is added to Amazon’s Top Free MP3 Albums, send me an email’ was created with this site and now I receive email updates when that happens! There are plenty of ready made examples on the site which they called Recipes (don’t like the name of that but hey ho it works). Have a look and spend the time browsing the list.
