Improving the Saturday rush hour...

So have been in Ipswich today getting a few odds and sods, nothing for Christmas yet still got that to sort out. However the town was incredibly busy and loads of people just wondering around aimlessly and spending loads of cash. Takes forever to get from A to B, which off course only increases the frustration!

Ed Drake

Here’s an excellent start for one of racers Ed Drake, his first podium finish of the season and so early. During the summer there was week long ski camp at Ipswich sponsored by Atomic and run by the Telling brothers. Ed spent the week there and the kids loved it.

Also during August there was a race at the Hemel ski centre to help raise much needed funds for him in his attempt to get to the Olympics in 2010.

Spooks

I started watching BBC One Spooks when it first came out years ago but didn’t like it. Last year started watching it again and have now got into it again and love watching it. The current series started a few weeks ago and it is proving to be as excellent as ever.

Annie Lennox

Wow haven’t heard Annie in a long time, sitting here watching Later with Jools, great voice but she looking more and more like a bloke now the way she dressed and body language. Still a great voice though.

Common sense problem solving

It always amazes me just how complex some people make things in life and fail to look at the simple obvious things first. When developers write an application they always make sure there is some sort of logging mechanism in there to dump out the errors and general useful information. So when a multi million pound system fails running across a a costly cluster environment, the first thing you would expect the developers to do is check the obvious logfile for any clues.

Later with Jools Holland

Watching Jools on BBC2 again and he has a really good line up tonight and different. Surprised at how old Rickie Lee Jones looks and do wonder what else she is taking !!

A couple of excellent pieces from the hippy Joss Stone doing her bit, and as usually sounding excellent. What was a surprise though was Steve Martin playing in a group on bango, yep the bango and he was incredibly good. Learn something new every day.

Will it work or not ...

Tomorrow my ISP is switching from Orange to O2. Last time I switched to Orange over two years it went incredibly smoothly, such a difference from previous experiences. Over the past two years Orange have been god and reliable. So why the change? Simple it is much cheaper for the year than Orange. It was tempting to leave it where it is, why bother with the hassle of changing, but the fact it went smoothly last time I thought I would give it a go yet again.

Where does £300 go??

In the recent Racer Ready magazine Tim Fawkes responded to a previous article about the British Indoor series and the SSE Grand Prix series. Now that is a debate which will continue for a long time, pros and cons on both sides, and certainly a lot of history and little flexibility on either party.

Bright lights of the city...

The number of times I have been to London and very rarely look around, just go to work head home or stay over for a night. Even when staying over end up working late and then going straight back to the hotel.

Oopps shouldn't have done that!!

When the blood pressure is rising it is always advisable to step back and walk away before replying to an email. Now normally that is something I do very well, but on Friday afternoon after an incredibly long week one of the final emails arriving of the day just wound me up so much. I’m amazed at just how some people can waste so much money on minor things, yet they don’t understand they are.
