Start of the ERSA race season
So the first couple of regional races have taken place and both have been a very good success. On the 21st April it was the first summer league at Welwyn and with 231 racers registered it was the highest number we have had for a race in a long time, amazing really to think how well the races have been supported at the start of the season. The schools race had 286 registered racers and we still turned away at least another 30 on top of that! Both days at Welwyn we had excellent weather which certainly helped make for an excellent time.
SyncIpswich
On Thursday evening I attended the first SyncIpswich at the Eastern Enterprise Hub. It follows on from the very successful SyncNorwich and the first one focused on ‘Building and Testing software at Google Scale’. Considering the event as the first one to be held in Ipswich it was amazing the number of people who were in attendance, fantastic turnout and very well organised in a great location.
Movies, movies and more movies
I love going to the cinema and watching Movies on the big screen always entertaining. Over Christmas this past year there was absolutely nothing on but come January and all the Movies appear, obviously for the awards season. It just means there is too much choice and you have to get in there quickly before they are removed. So over the past three weeks I have managed to get to see four of the recent releases and most have been very good.
Effective customer service via Social Media
There are many good and bad examples of companies using Social Media to engage with their customers to improve the service offered. More and more companies are starting to get it right, but there are still a huge number who really don’t ‘get it’ and realise the benefit Social Media can give them, could name loads that fail but no point.
Workplace of the Future
In this article Intel Offers a view of the Workplace of the Future, well in the next 10 to 20 years, and they come up with five key ideas. Must admit they are not that earth shattering and to be honest a bit lame.
